Keeping up two blogs is too much for me. Therefore, I regret to inform you this one will not be updated anymore; please see my other blog here.
Thank you!

What six words do you think best describe me?
Please take a moment and choose from the list on the link; I'll do the same for you (if I know you).

Baby Time Soon Feb. 10th, 2006 @ 01:21 pm
Well, my belly looks like it has a basketball in it now. I'll be 39 weeks tomorrow (40 weeks is on the due date, for those who don't know that stuff) and looking forward to being able to actually see my little baby! Since Forrest is going to be very busy at work next week, though, I'm "planning" to have the baby at the end of next week. Preferably Saturday (18th) or Sunday (19th). We'll see if God's plans and baby's plans (yes, I think the baby has just as much or more say in the birthday than I do!) coincide with mine! The thing is, on the 22nd we're supposed to have our picture taken for our church's directory, and even if the baby is just a couple days old, I'd rather she was visible in the picture, not just as her mama's huge stomach.
In other news, Timothy and David are still very cute, and growing bigger and more mature all the time. Timothy can make the "r" sound now and tries to employ it in most words that have that letter (and in some that have "w"...as a corrective...for example "rahsh" instead of "wash"). He's almost completely potty-trained, Hallelujah, and I wonder if David won't be too far behind. David catches on to a lot from his big brother. He's talking a lot and in sentences (although of course he still leaves some words out) but is still a little snugglebaby. Hopefully he won't take the arrival of the new baby hard...I know he'll love being a big brother, but he might also feel like his place as baby was usurped. Monday is his second birthday--we already gave him his big present--a tricycle. He likes it a lot.
And before I sign off, I'll take this opportunity to say CONGRATULATIONS to Holly & Brian on your courtship! We're very happy for you both, and Brian, you're getting someone very, very special. I'm sure the same goes for Holly, or she wouldn't have fallen for you. God bless you both!

I liked these results... Dec. 13th, 2005 @ 02:28 pm
Your Nail Polish Color is Purple

How you're unique: You are artistic and expressive

Why your style rocks: You pay special attention to color and fabrics

What this color says about you: "I'm creative and know how to take care of myself"

Your Scent is Lemon

Vivacious, tangy, and lively
You are one gigantic ball of energy!

Well, I'm 30 1/2 weeks along now...and very glad I'm in the (long) last stretch of this! I love having a new baby, but the waiting period is very patience-trying. I'm sure it's good for me. Through this Advent season we've been reminded through Scripture readings, devotions, sermons, etc. that the expectation, the hope, the waiting, is as it should be. God meets us in the wilderness. No need for us to conjure up some kind of "goodness" for Him to reach out to us. And though we need to prepare for Him, we don't need to rush into the climax of things. So, I'm learning, pregnancy is such a great picture of us waiting on the Lord, and definitely builds character. :-)
Anyway, I'm starting to feel like I'm running out of room for my lungs and digestive system...hehe...and trying to remember to sit up straight. Feeling Noelle move a lot more...her feet are up towards my rib cage and I often feel her move them. David loves to blow on my big tummy and talk to Noelle and "tickle" her.
Advent seems like it's been flying by...I can hardly believe we're already in the third week! The Capezzas have been here for almost a week now, and it's been fun but has also flown by so far. We're hoping to go Christmas shopping together later this week (minus our boys), and out to eat, so that should be fun.
Kyrie is a sweet little chub--so pretty and happy and cuddly. Timothy and David love her...I have to remind them not to get in her face so much and not to overdo the kisses. I said to David, "That's enough kissing; talk to her." So he, in a voice suggesting she was hard of hearing, said, "Hi Ka-wa-yay! Ka-wa-yay Alay-sa-song!" And she replied with a squeaky "Aah!"
It's been wintry here for a couple weeks now, and I'm so glad we're finally having a bit of real winter, for the first December in years, it seems. We've had a good bit of snow that stuck around ever since the first snowfall, and a couple times we've gotten this thick frost that clings to the branches of the trees and makes them completely white and sparkly. It's so pretty.

Well, we're back online after a long time of instability with our internet...got DSL installed today. Hooray! It's so fast.
The boys are asleep, Forrest is on his way home from work, I'm getting hungry again, and baby seems to be napping. (Yesterday she kept prodding the left of my belly with her hands...gotta get that baby turned more anterior!) Our company comes in about 29 hours!! I need to get their room ready, clean the bathroom, mop the kitchen, vacuum the livingroom. And probably go to Costco & another store for groceries.
Well, I have only about 10-12 more weeks to go! It seems still too long, but maybe Advent and Christmas and all that involves will help pass the time. And, we have two birthdays and an anniversary in our family after that! I don't really want Noelle to be born on David's birthday; I'd like to wait at least a few days after that. Although I know I'll be just impatient to have the baby by the time mid-February rolls around, it would be cool to wait until the first days of March...then we'd have birthdays in the first three months of the year.
The boys are growing. We had to buy David new pants, because some of his were getting too short for his legs. He and Timothy love the snow, and love to play in it--granted they have mittens on to protect their hands! They got to go sledding on Sunday at my parents' house (they have the best sledding hills) and really enjoyed it. David is so cute all bundled up in his massive snowpants and coat.
Timothy was playing with a couple of PEZ dispensers the other day, and one knocked into the other. He makes them say, "Hey, you don't push me over. That's naughty. Now kneel.." (makes PEZ guy bend down) "Lift your..." (makes PEZ guy lift head up to heaven) "Dear Abba, Amen." "Thank you for pushing me over." (I think that was supposed to be I forgive you??)
Well, I guess that's enough update for now.
» Kyrie Eleison
My little baby niece is so adorable...very beautiful and delicate! She's been asleep most of the time I've been around her, but yesterday I got to hold her a little bit while she was awake. She hardly cries at all, and Rachel is trying to feed her whenever she's interested. She's a good mom.
I just wanted to say a little something about her for y'all's benefit. We've had a good time visiting down here in Louisiana, and everything's wonderful now that the baby is born. Rachel and I did, at least, get to have pictures of us pregnant together, which we hadn't thought would happen.
I'm really glad Kyrie was born the day she was (Sept. 30th) because Rachel really wanted her to have a September birthday, and also wanted it to be on a day divisible by 5! So Kyrie gets to share a birthstone with me. :-)

Hello everyone out there,

If you actually ever check my blog out anymore, I am still here. (One nice thing about LiveJournal is, if you look at your friends page, if I'm your friend, you will see me!) I've been lurking for a bit, reading others' blogs and commenting on a couple of them, but I thought I'd come back into the light & let y'all know what's up.

Where to start?

As you probably already read on Holly's blog, we're expecting our third baby next February. The due date, as I finally remembered after counting the weeks, is February 18th. If I'm on time, that means we'll have two out of three children with February birthdays...if I could manage to go 11 days late (which I'm sure I won't feel like doing when it gets down to the last!) this baby could be born in March. We'll see. I'm excited though. Even though I feel worse this time than last, I feel like I have a better attitude about being pregnant--that it is very exciting, and I'm looking forward to having another teeny-tiny precious little (and amazingly adorable, no doubt) baby in six months!

My birthday is in eight days, and I'm going to be 25! But I'm almost more excited about going to the Interstate Fair...I just love going! It's great entertainment (and wearing out) for the kids, too...they love seeing the animals and all that. Besides, last year Forrest & I got gyros at a little Mediterranean food booth they had there, and they were SO good...hopefully we can do that again for dinner this year.

My sister is due to have a baby any time, but is hoping she's not born until at least September 1st...I agree, sapphire is a prettier birthstone. :-) Later next month we're driving down to see them, which should be great!

Timothy and David are growing up so much...David (when prompted for every word) can pray for a meal...or for forgiveness; Timothy can do those without prompting, although with a 2-year old mind he sometimes needs it because he gets easily distracted. David has started to sing "Ho-ly! Ho-ly!" when he sits in the rocking chair (it's one of their bedtime songs).

Well, I need to go for now, so I can update this and my other blog, and get off. I'll try to post more often than quarterly!

Forrest got me "Life is Beautiful" (La Vita E Bella) on DVD, Italian with English subtitles, for Mother's day. Along with the Chieftains' album "The Wide World Over"...celebration of 40 years of their band! Pretty impressive. Good album. And I already knew the movie is good, I've seen it several times. One of the best movies ever, IMHO.
We went to Manito Park on Sunday. It wasn't too busy, and we got to visit the perennial garden, conservatory, Duncan Gardens (although we just sat at the top and let the kids roll down the little hill, since the flower beds were still empty and the fountain, as far as we could tell, wasn't going!), Japanese Gardens (which they've done some sprucing up to, and it was beautiful) and the Lilac Garden. Ahhh. It was nice. I was tired after all that walking. Afterwards, we went out to Cold Stone Creamery for ice cream...first time there, and it was delicious. I had their "Paradise Found" which is white chocolate ice cream mixed with coconut, pineapple, and bananas. Like a banana-colada in ice cream form.
Forrest & I have been watching X-Files lately, and just got into the first season of "24". It really draws you in! I think my mom didn't like how that season ended, though. Oh well.
I'm making beer beef for dinner. I should probably go cut that up & get it stewing, and try to make a couple phone calls.

I wonder if any of our neighbors heard me this morning telling Timothy, "Hey! I don't want a pillbug in my pants!! Do not put a pillbug in my pants."
I was weeding out an overgrown area to start prepping it for some flowers I'm going to grow, and Timothy found a pillbug. He lost it, and was pretty upset. "My pillbug go? my pillbug go??" he asked. I told him it wanted to find its home and it was okay. So then the next one I found and gave him, after he played with it a little bit, he put on my back...I was suspicious, so felt between the top of my jeans and my lower back...and there it was. I hate pillbugs, by the way, but try not to freak out around the boys, because there's no reason to be afraid of them. And Timothy happens to like them.

         Here I am

the night envoloping the abode in which I lie,

the trees, colorful, now resting in darkness,

my surroundings all so familiar

I almost forget them,

when I think--There you are.

You're in another micro-world, filled with other things,

with different people, different images,

you're far from me, and so I can't see you,

but in my head, I remember your voice,

the voice I love most to hear, and think on--

dearer to me than any music, any other sound.

I hear traffic out the one window and the neighbors' lawnmower out the other. The birds aren't gone quite as crazy today, although they can still be heard often. The temperatures have been in the 70's lately, and it feels hot. We could use some rain, but I love this weather. Spring seems to have taken a long time in coming...but that's not unlike an April we had six years ago, when my baby sister Esther was born. It had been cold and dead outside for so long...my mom's midwife (Heather, who is now my sister-in-law) was staying with us, because she knew whenever the baby came, it would be too fast for her to come from where she lived. So for nine days she slept on my parents' couch and was somewhat an older sister to us. We played games together (she taught us "Mennonite madness") and watched movies, and impatiently waited for the baby to come. The day Esther was born, April 30th, was a beautiful day: finally the sun was shining brightly and the hill was all green with its grasses, and little wildflowers--shooting stars, yellow bells, etc.--dotted the earth. I went up on the hill that evening to watch the sunset--such rich gold rays--and hadn't been up there long before Rachel yelled up to me from the house that the baby was being born!! My mom had an easy but overwhelmingly short six-minute labor and our baby sister was here. After three boys in a row, we were all ecstatic to have another girl around. And this Saturday she's going to be six years old. Gasp.
» An Introduction
For any of you who don't know me, I thought I'd give a little bit more "normal" post, and maybe will do so more often so that, for one, I actually post more often than once or twice a month. We'll see.
Let's see...I'm married to the world's wonderfullest man, Forrest (followinggiants) and have lots of great extended family. And Forrest & I have our own family as well--we have two little boys that are a lot of fun and trouble.
Last week we (i.e. Forrest) tilled our garden up (minus the tulip, rose & iris beds, and my perennial herb beds). We got our strawberries in the mail, and planted them, and they seem to be doing well. Indoors, I've got tomatoes and basil sprouting, as well as artichokes (we'll see how they do, this is a totally new thing to me to grow them!).
I've been frustrated whenever I try to change the layout & stuff on my LJ blog...so if anyone has tips, I'm open to suggestions. Doesn't mean I'll use them though--but you never know!
We watched Ladder 49 last night; it had some good stuff in it but I didn't like how it ended. Kyle (cousin-in-law) probably wouldn't have minded it.
My sister and her husband are coming for a long visit in less than 3 weeks--we are so blessed by how often we're able to see them, seeing how they live in Louisiana! One of my sisters-in-law is getting married in June, and we're going down for the wedding. I even get to be a bridesmaid!
The boys will be up from their naps fairly soon and I need to think about what to make for dinner, so I really should go for now. The end.

For anyone wondering, my newest userpic was actually stolen from my brother Isaiah and then shrunk to a point where you can't fully appreciate it.  But I thought it was still beautiful, and kinda in line with the whole poetic theme I have.

Years ago I was trying to meter Psalm 148...this is it, still unfinished:

O Praise the LORD God for His marvellous creation:
The sun and the moon and the thousands of stars;
The wind blowing over the waves of the ocean,
The lights of the north shining gleams from afar:
Praise God, all you men; Praise Him, women and children;
Give praise, all His angels and heavenly hosts.
Praise Him, fire and hail, for He made you with power:
The LORD shall be praised from mountain to coasts.
